Is Goondiwindi’s Mark Johnson the best truck driver in Australia?

He’s certainly the best in Queensland and he has the trophy to prove it.

Mark who drives for the Marschall Group was recently named the Queensland Proessional Driver of the Year by thee Queensland Trucking Association.

The award was presented at a gala dinner at the Pat Rafter Arena in Brisbane where the who’s who of the Queensland trucking industry gathered.

“Mark has been a long serving employee for over 30 years and has a wealth of experience, and with this has proved himself to be a great asset to our company,” Marschall Group Director,  Michael Marschall said.

Mark is involved heavily in the heavy haulage and crane operations of the business but over the years has worked across many of the different areas of the transport and crane hire company.

“Marks commitment to the trucking industry is evident through his experiences and long dedication to the industry.  The commitment by him and his family in helping run the Lights on the Hill Memorial exemplifies this,” Operations Manager, Luke Skele said.

Mark has received numerous congratulations from clients and industry representatives.

“It is great to see Mark acknowledged and awarded for something which he is so passionate and dedicated to,” Stephen Marschall said.

Mark was joined by his family and work colleges at the dinner to hear the announcement.

“The company and Mark were humbled and honoured by the Queensland transport industry in Mark receiving the award,” Luke said.

“He’s pretty shy about it all but it couldn’t go to a better person.”

Mark is now in the running to become the Australian Professional Driver of the Year to be named later in the year.
