TASMANIAN truck driver Ricky Edson is fed up with car drivers rushing to their final destination.

Ricky posted a clip to his Facebook page recently of the deadly behaviour  he'd captured on his dashcam of drivers on the roads in just a one month period.

The clip details driver after driver doing dangerous manoeuvres.

But there's one in particular, that's the third

clip in the compliation, that set his heart fluttering.

"The one at Conara junction pushed me right to my limit," he told Big Rigs.

The clip shows a black vehicle pulling out in front of him in an intersection, but soon sees the truck on the road and a a collision is avoided.

"I thought 'where do I go, what do I do', but I just kept going straight," Ricky said.

"It was a bit of a scary moment and it took a while to sink in what actually nearly happened, but once I did it was like, wow."

From the behaviour he'd observed on the roads, Ricky said it seemed everyone was in a rush.

His message was this: "Just slow down, be patient. Everyone wants to go home safe tonight. I'm just dreading the day that my mother and father get the call that I'm not coming home."

"Everyone is always in a rush, (just) wind down and take a chill pill. You've only got one life and you're not coming back if you lose that one life," he said.

"I don't know why they're in a rush, (there's) no need to put your life at risk let alone (the life of) someone else who is trying to make a living."

As for what the solution might be, Ricky suggested harsher penalties and more education.

"I was talking to a young fella who just got his L's and he said there's hardly anything in there (the test) about driving with heavy vehicles on the roads."
