A FEW millimetres of rain has been enough to cause traffic chaos with crashes on several major roads leading into Brisbane this morning. In the latest incident, several vehicles have collided on Sandgate Rd, at Roscommon Road blocking the left lane inbound, causing delays. Earlier, a car and a truck came together on Gympie Road at Kedron, blocking the southbound lanes near Lassiter Road. Another crash on Beaudesert Road at Parkinson on Brisbane’s southside caused delays. In other incidents: A semi-trailer jackknifed on the Warrego Highway at Dinmore and blocked the left lane, affecting eastbound traffic. There was a multi-vehicle crash on the Centenary Highway inbound just after the Mount Ommaney on ramp which bliocked lanes.
Further south on the Centenary a car came to grief at the onramp northbound from Springfield Parkway. A single vehicle crash caused delays on Milton Road at the Miskin Street roundabout at Toowong. Stewart Road at Ashgrove was slowgoing because of a single vehicle crash on Enoggera Creek bridge on Wardell Street and Stewart Road. Meanwhile, a tree apparently felled by lightning is lying across Underwood Road at Eight Mile Plains. Finally a motorcyclist has fallen off their bike in Osbourne Road at Mitchelton outside Mount Maria College.
